Speed of sound: 343.2 metres per second, This is 1,236 kilometres per hour and approximately one mile in five seconds.

Vibration and pitch:

Vibrations is when something is oscillating around a certain position.
Pitch is the scale and frequency of sound. It is usually measured high or low.

Echoes:

Echoes are series of sounds caused from sound waves reflecting off a surface back to the listener.

Doppler effect:

When the source of the waves is moving toward the observer All the waves are pushed closer to the front which creates a high pitch noise. But once the source of the waves moves past the observer the pitch drops because the waves are more spread out at the back. A good example of the Doppler effect is when a vehicle passes you at a fast pace.

Resonance:

Can be used to generate vibrations at a specific frequency (e.g. musical instruments), or pick out specific frequencies from a complex vibration containing many frequencies (e.g. filters).
